A
long-time member of the
American Society of Landscape
Architects (ASLA), in
1998, Kent’s peers bestowed
a singular, career honor
by electing and investing
him to the status of an
ASLA “Fellow.” This national
recognition was conferred
for his specialized knowledge
about the preservation
of historic, early American
landscapes and gardens.
In 1999, Kent was also
presented with “Society
Honors” by the Virginia
Society, American Institute
of Architects (AIA), in
recognition of his many
contributions as a Landscape
Architect to the preservation
of several historic sites
within the Mid-Atlantic
region.
Kent
is married to the former
Carol Joyce Payne, a graduate
of Illinois Wesleyan University,
and a long-time employee
of Colonial Williamsburg.
The couple makes their
home in James City County,
Virginia.
