We
then schedule a meeting between the prospective client
and one of our members of our design staff, who will bring
with them a copy of the scanned and scaled base drawing
of the client’s property. At that time, we return the
borrowed, original plot plan to the homeowner. This first
meeting is typically an information-gathering session
with the prospective client to get acquainted with them;
find out the client’s likes and dislikes; and what types
of work the client would like to do. The design staff
member will make notes of the discussion with the prospective
client, and will then use the base drawing to walk around
the exterior of the house; making notes of the existing
conditions of the property. The locations of windows and
outside doors, HVAC units, fences, walks, driveways, decks,
patios, sheds, and existing trees and shrubs will be noted
on the base drawing at this time; since all of these elements
will need to be considered as we begin developing a proposed
landscape site development plan.
